Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your MatchPal account at any time. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. The few records that stay behind are listed under “What we keep”.

Delete from inside the app

This is the fastest route and takes effect straight away.

Open MatchPal on your phone.
On the Home tab, tap your profile picture in the top right to open Pal Score.
Tap the settings gear in the top right.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
Confirm when prompted.

Request deletion by email

If you saved your account with an email address and have already uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in, email us from that address and we will delete it for you.

A guest account has no email address, so we cannot find it from an email. Delete a guest account from inside the app.

Please use the subject line “Delete my MatchPal account”. We action these within 30 days, and normally within a few working days.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account erases:

Your profile, display name and profile picture. Fantasy entries keep a copy of your display name (see “What we keep”)
Teams, leagues and players you follow, and your primary team
Your match chat messages
Your match predictions and prediction history
Your saved line-ups
Your Pal Score awards
Notification preferences and match alert subscriptions
Registered devices and push notification tokens
Feedback you sent through the app, and any reply email you gave with it
The record of who invited you, and of anyone you invited
Your sign-in identity itself, including your email address, so the account can no longer be used

What we keep

Football data shown in the app, such as fixtures, scores, line-ups, standings and news, is not personal to you and is unaffected.

Some records are not removed when you delete your account:

Fantasy squads are not removed. They keep your display name and account ID and stay on the public leaderboard. Each squad is also copied forward into the next gameweek, so new entries with your display name keep being created until we remove them.
If someone invited you and was rewarded for it, the record of their reward keeps your account ID.
Copies of feedback posted to our team’s private Discord channel stay there until our team removes them.
Records of reminder notifications sent to you and weekly Pal Score snapshots are stored against your account ID and may remain.
Server logs kept by our hosting providers may hold a record of the deletion request, including your account ID.
