1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using MatchPal (matchpal.io) and/or the MatchPal Live Reddit widget, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Service Description

MatchPal provides the following services:

• Website (matchpal.io): Football match schedules, TV broadcast information, live scores, team lineups, betting odds for informational purposes, and AI-generated match preview blog posts
• Reddit Widget: Live match threads integrated into Reddit through the Devvit platform, displaying real-time scores, events, lineups, stats, TV channels, bracket data, and community prediction and rating features

3. Data Sources and Accuracy

All match data is sourced from third-party APIs (including SportMonks) and publicly available information. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee the completeness or correctness of match schedules, scores, lineups, TV listings, or betting odds.

Users should verify critical information (such as match times and TV channels) with official sources before making plans or decisions.

4. AI-Generated Content

MatchPal publishes AI-generated match preview blog posts created using the Anthropic Claude API. These articles are produced automatically from publicly available match data.

• AI-generated content is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of AI-generated articles
• Such content should not be relied upon for betting, gambling, or financial decisions
• MatchPal reserves the right to edit, remove, or correct AI-generated content at any time

5. Betting Odds Disclaimer

Betting odds displayed on MatchPal are for informational purposes only. MatchPal does not:

• Operate as a bookmaker or betting service
• Accept bets or facilitate gambling transactions
• Promote or encourage gambling
• Provide betting advice or recommendations

Users must be of legal age and comply with their local laws regarding gambling. Gambling can be addictive — please gamble responsibly.

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access or extract data from MatchPal
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access source code
• Resell, redistribute, or commercialise MatchPal data without permission
• Use the service for illegal activities or to violate any laws
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
• Transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code
• Manipulate community prediction or rating features (e.g. duplicate voting)

7. Intellectual Property

MatchPal's website design, code, and content are owned by MatchPal. Team logos, league badges, and match data are owned by their respective rights holders. MatchPal uses such content under fair use provisions for informational purposes. AI-generated blog content is produced by MatchPal and subject to the same ownership.

8. Advertising

The MatchPal website displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. By using the website you acknowledge that:

• Google AdSense may use cookies to serve personalised ads based on your browsing activity
• MatchPal is not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements
• You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ad Settings

9. Service Availability

MatchPal is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Availability during peak traffic or technical issues
• Real-time accuracy of live scores (delays may occur)
• Continued availability of any specific feature or data source

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MatchPal and its operators shall not be liable for any:

• Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
• Damages resulting from incorrect or AI-generated information
• Losses incurred from gambling or betting activities
• Technical failures or third-party service outages

11. Reddit Widget Specific Terms

The MatchPal Live Reddit widget is subject to:

• Reddit's Terms of Service and User Agreement
• Reddit's Developer Platform policies
• Subreddit rules where the widget is installed

The widget stores limited anonymous interaction data (votes, ratings, reminders) keyed by opaque Reddit user IDs. This data is used solely to power community features and expires automatically. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Community predictions (Win/Draw/Loss votes) and match ratings are for entertainment purposes only and do not constitute advice of any kind.

12. Third-Party Services

MatchPal integrates with third-party services including:

• Google AdSense: Advertising network
• Supabase: Database hosting for match data
• Vercel: Website hosting and deployment
• Railway: Backend API hosting
• SportMonks: Match data provider
• Anthropic: AI content generation
• Reddit Devvit: Reddit widget platform

These services have their own terms and privacy policies. MatchPal is not responsible for third-party services or their availability.

13. User Conduct

Users must:

• Use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes
• Respect rate limits and not overload our servers
• Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems or data
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates when terms were last modified.

Continued use of MatchPal after changes constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

15. Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to MatchPal immediately, without notice, for conduct that violates these terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

16. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
