Larin returns to Southampton with back irritation

Southampton's top Championship scorer withdrew from Canada duty due to back irritation and returned for evaluation ahead of Sunday's derby with Portsmouth.

Cyle Larin has withdrawn from Canada's international friendly against Peru this weekend due to back irritation. The Southampton striker, who leads the Championship with seven goals in eight matches, was already an unused substitute on Saturday as Canada won 2-0 in Montreal. He has returned to Saints for further assessment. Southampton will assess his fitness ahead of Sunday's south coast derby against Portsmouth at St Mary's.
