Sources: Barnsley agree deal to sign Daniel Johnson

The 34-year-old Jamaica international will join Barnsley on a free transfer after leaving Turkish club Fatih Karagumruk.

Barnsley have agreed terms with former Preston North End midfielder Daniel Johnson on a free transfer. The 34-year-old Jamaica international, who left Turkish outfit Fatih Karagumruk when his contract expired in June, will undergo medical tests at Oakwell before completing the move. Manager Daniel Stendel targeted Johnson to strengthen the midfield after a slow League One start, with the experienced midfielder's 336 Preston appearances seen as valuable for the squad.
