Brighton player reliable alternative to Bournemouth star – Seagulls face uphill battle to stop exit

AC Milan target Brighton's Yasin Ayari as a cheaper alternative to Bournemouth's Alex Scott to replace ageing Modrić.

AC Milan are scouting midfield reinforcements ahead of Luka Modrić's contract expiry, with Bournemouth's Alex Scott their primary target and Brighton's Yasin Ayari as a backup option. Scott commands £60–70m, putting him out of Milan's budget, while Ayari has been monitored for two years; Roma previously withdrew from a deal over Brighton's €45m valuation. The 23-year-old Swede has established himself under Fabian Hürzeler after joining Brighton in January 2023.
