Scotland accused of football snobbery over Danny Armstrong snub as Romania legend makes call up prediction

Former Kilmarnock winger Armstrong, in fine form at Dinamo Bucharest with four goals and ten assists in 11 games, was overlooked by Scotland manager Pocognoli for the Nations League squad.

Danny Armstrong, the ex-Kilmarnock winger now starring for Dinamo Bucharest in the Romanian Super League, was not considered for former Scotland manager Sebastien Pocognoli's first squad selection as the Scots' Nations League campaign began with mixed results. Armstrong has impressed this season with four goals and ten assists in 11 games, earning the division's Player of the Month award and helping Dinamo chase their first league title in two decades. Former Benfica and Porto player Basarab Panduru criticised Scotland's decision, suggesting the snub reflected snobbery over Armstrong playing outside Europe's top five leagues.
