Bergwijn flawless from the spot: forward extends impressive penalty streak

Bergwijn converted his 17th consecutive penalty without a miss, extending a remarkable record that includes 15 in regular time and two in Ajax's dramatic shootout vs Panathinaikos.

Steven Bergwijn has maintained a perfect penalty record, converting 17 consecutive spot-kicks across his career. The 29-year-old Al-Ittihad forward scored from the spot last Saturday against Yassine Bounou, extending a streak that includes 15 penalties in regular time or extra time and two more in Ajax's extraordinary 13-12 shootout victory over Panathinaikos in August 2024. While his tally falls short of the career totals of Harry Kane (109 converted, 14 missed) and Kylian Mbappé (64 converted, 14 missed), his flawless conversion rate remains striking.
