Jose Mourinho in public disagreement with Real Madrid star in aftermath of Roma win

Mourinho disagreed with Valverde's assessment of Real Madrid's comeback, crediting tactical adjustments and midfield communication rather than substitutions for the turnaround.

Real Madrid came from 3-1 down to beat Roma 4-3 in the Champions League, with goals from Espi, Endrick and Rudiker in the second half. Midfielder Valverde attributed the comeback to the impact of substitutes, but manager Mourinho disputed this in his post-match press conference. Mourinho explained he had made tactical adjustments during the first half, discussing positioning with Tchouameni to counter Roma's attacking setup, and felt the team became more stable once these changes took effect in the second half.
