When Kenneth Perez broke through: 'For me, things are either good or bad'

Archive interview from early 2000 with Kenneth Perez discussing the contract dispute between AZ and Roda JC that nearly derailed his career.

VI Tijdmachine revisits an interview with Kenneth Perez from early 2000, when the then-25-year-old Danish midfielder was beginning his successful spell at AZ. The piece focuses on a contract controversy in which Roda JC claimed to have signed Perez while he was also under agreement with AZ. Perez defended himself against accusations of signing two contracts, arguing that his Roda deal was invalid because the club failed to notify MVV as required. The dispute was a major talking point at the time, though Perez chose to remain largely silent publicly rather than fight the negative perception.
