Celtic to 'consider' Van den Berg January move

Celtic may loan out 19-year-old midfielder Van den Berg in January if he continues to lack first-team opportunities after joining from PSV in summer.

Celtic are considering a loan move for Dutch midfielder Joel van den Berg in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider. The 19-year-old, who joined from PSV Eindhoven over the summer, has yet to make his debut for the Bhoys and hasn't featured in a matchday squad since 9 September. Celtic view him as a long-term prospect but are prepared to explore a loan deal for the second half of the season if he remains unable to get first-team minutes, keen to avoid stunting his development.
