New chapter in Corinthians crisis: club sacks technical director Paz

Technical director Marcelo Paz sacked after one week of Seedorf's appointment, following financial crisis and eight consecutive defeats.

Corinthians has dismissed technical director Marcelo Paz, just over a week after appointing Clarence Seedorf as head coach. The decision follows the club's severe financial crisis and poor results, including eight straight defeats and unpaid player image rights totalling €5 million. Paz, who joined in late 2023 and oversaw signings including Memphis Depay and Jesse Lingard, was removed following pressure from the club's hardcore supporters and player discontent. The club stated the decision was made "in mutual consultation."
