Mullins hit by fresh injury concerns at Newport

Newport County's injury crisis deepens with Nyakuhwa and Jacob sidelined; Hull loanee Jacob suffered hamstring strain against York.

Newport County manager Hayden Mullins is dealing with a mounting injury list as League Two side battles absences. Striker Christian Doidge and midfielder Aaron Lewis picked up groin injuries ahead of the 1-1 draw with York City, while Harri Pugh and Keenan Patten remain out. Hull City loanee Matty Jacob, who arrived on deadline day and has impressed with two assists in seven appearances, suffered a hamstring strain against York and will be missed. Mullins believes squad depth will help weather the crisis, with Tom Davies fit again and options like Alfie Merritt and Joe Thomas available to fill the gap.
