Atlético among suitors for Premier League talent

Atlético Madrid among several clubs tracking Brighton midfielder Diego Gómez, 23, valued at €50–60m with contract until 2031.

Atlético Madrid is one of several European clubs monitoring Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Diego Gómez, the 23-year-old Paraguayan who has impressed in the Premier League. Standing 1.85m tall, Gómez is a box-to-box midfielder known for his physical strength in duels, pressing and ball recovery, and his ability to drive forward and finish from distance.

However, Brighton has no intention of selling easily. Gómez is contracted until 2031 and valued between €50–60 million. Manager Fabian Hürzeler considers him non-negotiable. Brighton's track record of selling only on their own terms and at premium prices means any formal approach will be difficult, at least in the short term. Alongside Atlético, AC Milan, Arsenal and Manchester United are also tracking the midfielder.
