De Rossi loses his cool with Genoa fan but admits he was wrong to react

De Rossi acknowledged he reacted poorly to a fan during Genoa's win over Venezia but insisted the team deserves support after an important victory.

Daniele De Rossi was caught on camera exchanging words with a Genoa supporter after the final whistle of his side's victory over Venezia. When asked about the incident, the Genoa manager responded with characteristic candour, admitting fault while defending his players.

"I made a mistake," De Rossi said. "There was one person who talked constantly for ninety minutes. I don't mind being treated like an idiot, but we need to support these lads. I shouldn't have reacted and I apologize. There were another 30,000 who showed incredible love." He praised the squad's resilience, particularly in the second half when Genoa struggled but held firm. He highlighted midfielder Colombo's commitment and the medical staff's work in getting him fit to play.

De Rossi emphasized the importance of the result in a direct clash and called for unity around the team going forward, noting that Genoa must now target points against Juventus. He acknowledged his own role in improving the team's play while stressing that the players deserve recognition for their effort.
