The struggle of Marcos Leonardo

The 23-year-old Brazilian striker has struggled to find the net since joining Ajax, despite the club's investment in his goal-scoring ability.

Marcos Leonardo arrived at Ajax as a traditional finisher, but the 23-year-old Brazilian has lost his way in front of goal. In Ajax's match against Atalanta, Leonardo had a clear chance when teammate Lucas Rosa found him on the right, but his shot drifted wide. The miss exemplifies a broader pattern of missed opportunities. Despite the struggles, Ajax's coaching staff remain confident in a turnaround, with insiders suggesting his training performances show promise that hasn't yet translated to matches.
