Qatar fulfils World Cup promise by donating equipment to humble sport

Qatar delivers 15 buses and safety equipment to Senegal ahead of the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, the first Olympic event held in Africa.

Qatar has supplied 15 buses and safety equipment to Senegal to support preparations for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, scheduled for 31 October to 13 November. The Games will mark the first time an Olympic event is held on African soil.

The initiative reflects Qatar's broader commitment to helping host nations organise sporting events and foster international cooperation, drawing on experience and resources gained from hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup and other major tournaments. Qatar's ambassador to Senegal, Youssef Shaban Ibrahim Al Sada, said the support demonstrates the strong relationship between the two nations and Qatar's belief in sport's role in strengthening cooperation between countries.
