Herrera attacks Manchester City: "Mourinho is like The Simpsons"

Herrera criticised Manchester City's rule breaches in a YouTube interview, saying the damage is irreparable and comparing Mourinho's predictions to The Simpsons.

Ander Herrera appeared on Mario Suárez's YouTube channel 'El camino de Mario' to discuss his career and personal life. During the interview, he reflected on his time at PSG, Manchester United, Boca Juniors, and his recent return to Zaragoza, where he now plays after the club's relegation from Segunda División to 1ª RFEF.

When asked about Manchester City's sanctions, Herrera said it was necessary to follow the rules and that what happened at City was not normal. "Everyone there was aware of it," he stated. He emphasised that the damage done is irreparable and referenced José Mourinho's comments about the importance of second place during City's rule-breaking period, saying: "It's like The Simpsons — what he says, then happens."

Herrera did not blame the players or manager but held the club's owners responsible, believing they deserve exemplary punishment. Since returning to Zaragoza, he has played five league matches. After nine rounds, Zaragoza sits second, level on points with Villarreal B.
