Cardiff City's 'impressive' January plans as Vincent Tan demands emerge

Barry-Murphy promises exciting January signings as Cardiff look to push for the play-offs following their recent upturn in form.

Cardiff City manager Brian Barry-Murphy has revealed owner Vincent Tan's demands for continued improvement and pledged that the club's January transfer business will excite supporters.

The Bluebirds have climbed the Championship table after taking 10 points from their last five matches, prompting some fans to dream of a play-off push in a season where the top eight qualify. Barry-Murphy said Tan's mentality is clear: "when you do well you can do better, and when you don't do well you have to do better."

The manager deliberately kept summer recruitment selective, prioritising quality over quantity, which has left Cardiff stretched at times—particularly in central defence due to injuries. However, Barry-Murphy has no regrets about that approach and believes the groundwork is in place for a strong January window to strengthen the squad.
