Correia: 'This was the worst first half I have ever seen'

FC Utrecht endured a nightmare first half against Telstar, with errors compounding throughout the opening 45 minutes. The second half showed improvement, but the damage was already done.

Manager Anthony Correia was scathing in his assessment after the match. "This was the worst first half I have ever seen," he told ESPN. "We had two good attacks, but then we ran into a wall we couldn't break through."

When asked if he regretted his team selection, Correia rejected that explanation. "It wasn't about the formation, it was about the attitude," he said. "I blame myself for not getting them fired up to play the way Telstar did. Every second ball went to them, and in every attack I saw a lack of courage and commitment."

Despite the heavy loss following an already difficult start to the season, Correia remained philosophical. "We shouldn't act like the world is ending. The attitude has to change. Every match is a chance to be the best, and we'll get another one next week. We'll just keep going full throttle."
