Who are Scott Parker's backroom team? West Ham legends reunite for new era

Parker's backroom includes West Ham legends Potts and Noble, plus academy coaches Prenderville and Lepine.

West Ham have appointed Scott Parker as head coach to replace Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked after a 3-1 defeat to West Brom. Parker, 46, arrives from Burnley and brings a backroom team featuring club legends and academy staff.

Former midfielder Mark Noble, now sporting director, will work closely with the squad in a hands-on role. Steve Potts, another ex-West Ham player with over 500 appearances, was promoted from academy coach to Nuno's backroom in October 2025 and has helped bridge the gap between the academy and first team. Gerard Prenderville, who was part of the Under-18s coaching team when West Ham won the FA Youth Cup in 2022/23, has also been promoted. Billy Lepine, appointed head of academy goalkeeping in 2020, worked as a goalkeeping coach under Nuno.

Parker takes charge for Wednesday's match against Cardiff as West Ham, currently eighth in the Championship, look to revive their automatic promotion bid.
