Spalletti: 'More confidence, the squad gave an important response'

Spalletti says Juventus arrive in good form ahead of Thursday's Europa League trip to AZ Alkmaar, but McKennie's absence will be felt.

Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti previewed Thursday's Europa League match at AZ Alkmaar, emphasizing the team's improved confidence following their recent win against Napoli. With seven points from three group games, Juventus sit in the top eight and are chasing direct qualification to the knockout stages.

Spalletti confirmed that Sarr and Kelly will start, with rotation planned in attack due to limited minutes for new signing Ekhator. He acknowledged that McKennie's absence will impact the squad's response, but expressed confidence in the team's mentality after their recent performance. Kolo Muani is expected to start after recovering from fatigue, with alternatives available from the bench.

On young defender Alajbegovic, Spalletti praised his maturity and willingness to take responsibility despite his age, though cautioned against overloading him with too many consecutive appearances. The match kicks off at 21:00 CET on Sky Sport.
