Toe problem rules out Exeter City captain Fitzwater

Captain Fitzwater undergoes toe procedure and will miss the FA Cup tie at Huddersfield; return timeline unclear.

Exeter City captain Jack Fitzwater will miss the FA Cup first-round tie at League One leaders Huddersfield Town after undergoing a procedure on a toe injury. The 29-year-old central defender has been an ever-present for the Grecians this season but the length of his absence remains uncertain. Manager Matt Taylor said the injury presents an opportunity for alternatives, with Ed James ready to return after international duty and Luca Woodhouse able to move inside, while Vinny Harper is also an option.
