'It's not personal' - Tuchel explains Palmer exclusion

Tuchel has excluded Chelsea's Cole Palmer from England's November Nations League squad, citing his previous withdrawals and the form of players who attended the last camp.

Thomas Tuchel has left Cole Palmer out of the England squad for Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain, despite the Chelsea forward being fit and in form with six goal involvements in nine Premier League games this season.

Tuchel insisted the decision is not personal but reflects his philosophy of rewarding players who are available and perform in camp. Palmer has withdrawn from two England squads during Tuchel's tenure and was unavailable through injury three times. The manager previously said Palmer "misses too many opportunities to impress" him.

Instead, Tuchel has retained attacking options Jude Bellingham, Morgan Gibbs-White, Eberechi Eze, Morgan Rogers and included 19-year-old Josh King. Tuchel said: "It's always the ones who are in camp, the ones who don't withdraw. The ones who walk the talk." He added that the door remains open for Palmer to return if he demonstrates commitment to the squad.
