Neymar's father appointed Santos general director

Neymar's father has been appointed general director of Santos on a trial basis through the end of 2024.

Santos have officially appointed Neymar senior as general director, a position he will hold at least until the end of this calendar year. The club has been searching for a permanent appointment to the role for over 18 months. If the partnership proves successful, Neymar senior could be offered a permanent contract.

Neymar senior will now work at the club where his son also plays under contract. Neymar junior has scored eight goals and provided three assists in 15 Serie A matches this season but is currently serving a suspension following a red card against Bahia. Neymar senior also serves as his son's agent. Santos currently sit ninth in the Brazilian league.
