Port Vale appoint Moore as sporting director

Moore joins Port Vale as sporting director after two-and-a-half years leading football operations at Shrewsbury Town.

Port Vale have appointed Micky Moore as sporting director. Moore previously spent two-and-a-half years as director of football at League Two rivals Shrewsbury Town, leaving last summer. Before that, he spent four-and-a-half years at Cheltenham Town, where he helped the club win promotion from League Two as champions in 2020-21 and achieve their highest-ever league finish in League One the following season. Moore said he is excited by the challenge ahead at Vale, who were relegated from League One last season and currently sit 23rd in League Two.
