PSG: Kvaratskhelia successfully operated on for anterior cruciate ligament rupture

Kvaratskhelia underwent successful surgery for a torn ACL suffered in PSG's Champions League match against Barcelona on October 20; expected absence of 6–10 months.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has undergone successful surgery for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee at ASPETAR hospital in Doha, PSG confirmed on Tuesday. The 25-year-old Georgian, who joined Paris Saint-Germain in January 2025, suffered the injury in the 59th minute of PSG's 4–2 Champions League victory over Barcelona a week ago, when his knee twisted and he was unable to put weight on his right leg.

ACL injuries typically sideline players for 6–10 months. Kvaratskhelia will now begin his rehabilitation. The injury compounds a difficult week for PSG, as defenders Marquinhos and Ousmane Dembélé also left the Barcelona match with injuries and will miss several weeks. Kvaratskhelia is contracted to PSG until June 2029, and manager Luis Enrique indicated the club does not plan to recruit a replacement.
