Stunning JJ Gabriel details emerge as he moves closer to Manchester United exit

The 15-year-old academy prospect has requested to leave after perceiving broken promises over first-team opportunities and will not sign a new scholarship deal.

JJ Gabriel's representatives submitted a request for the youngster to leave Manchester United last month after his camp felt promised game time did not materialise. Gabriel, who would have become United's youngest-ever player had he featured against Brighton in the Carabao Cup, has not reported to Carrington since the request. The teenager, turning 16 on Tuesday, was set to sign a pre-contract agreement but his camp has decided his future lies elsewhere due to what they perceive as broken promises over playing time. Manager Michael Carrick gave Gabriel a pre-season debut against Atlético Madrid but he did not feature in any other friendly.
