Everton missed the chance to sign Juventus winger Zhegrova in a swap deal involving Beto; the Kosovo international has since impressed for club and country.

Everton explored a swap deal with Juventus last winter and into the summer that would have sent striker Beto to Turin in exchange for winger Edon Zhegrova, but the move never materialised. Zhegrova, 27, has since found form for both Juventus and Kosovo, starring in Sunday's international clash against Austria. The Toffees are unlikely to revisit the opportunity soon as the Serie A winger's stock has recovered after a difficult 2024–25 season.
