Summarised by MatchPal
Lineker backs Kane for Ballon d'Or after England captain matched Shilton's 125-cap record and scored twice in 3-0 Nations League win.
Gary Lineker has publicly backed Harry Kane to win the Ballon d'Or, calling the England captain "phenomenal" and "truly incredible". Kane matched Peter Shilton's 125-cap England record and scored twice in a 3-0 Nations League victory against Czech Republic at Wembley. The 33-year-old has now scored 91 goals for England and struck eight times in as many appearances for Bayern Munich this season. Lineker noted that Kane would be England's first Ballon d'Or winner, as previous English winners like Owen and Keegan only won the European Footballer of the Year award.
