Lincoln's Darikwa handed new deal after knee surgery

Lincoln City defender Darikwa signs one-year extension despite ACL injury ruling him out for the season; deal removes contract uncertainty during recovery.

Lincoln City defender Tendayi Darikwa has signed a new one-year contract with the club following ACL surgery that will sideline him for the remainder of the season. The 34-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in the Imps' first home Championship game in August. Sporting director Jez George said the deal allows Darikwa to focus on recovery without the stress of his previous contract expiring, recognizing his role in Lincoln's League One title win last season.
