André Gomes, now with Columbus Crew in MLS, paid tribute to Lionel Messi following the Argentina star's retirement from international football. The Portuguese midfielder, who shared a Barcelona dressing room with Messi, said he felt fortunate to have won major trophies together including La Liga, two Copa del Rey titles and the Spanish Super Cup. Gomes also reflected on his career, noting he is one of the few players to have played alongside both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and briefly addressed the current tensions between Ronaldo and Portugal coach Jorge Jesus.
