I turned Aberdeen transfer adviser in failed bid to sign another Liverpool star after push to get Rhys Williams

Clarkson reveals he tried to recruit another Liverpool player to Aberdeen after his own move, but the bid failed.

Leighton Clarkson, who joined Aberdeen on a permanent deal in summer 2023 after a successful loan spell, has disclosed that he attempted to help the club sign another Liverpool academy graduate shortly after his arrival. Manager Barry Robson asked Clarkson to recommend centre halves and left backs, but the transfer pursuit did not materialise. Clarkson left Aberdeen for Blackpool in January and reflected on the failed recruitment effort in an exclusive interview.
