Sources: Ajax make Aaron Bouwman transfer plan after Newcastle twist

Newcastle interested in Ajax centre-back Bouwman, but the Dutch club are reluctant to sell and unlikely to let him leave in January.

Newcastle United are tracking Ajax centre-back Aaron Bouwman, the 19-year-old who has made 11 appearances this season before a recent injury. Scouts across Europe are monitoring his progress as he returns to action. However, Ajax have no intention of selling the teenager and a January move is unlikely; Newcastle may need to wait until summer if they wish to pursue a deal.
