Matthias Jaissle wants €60m Newcastle United transfer – Pushing after summer failure

Newcastle remain interested in Real Sociedad midfielder Sučić after a failed summer approach; manager Jaissle wants to reunite with his former player.

Newcastle United are pursuing Real Sociedad's Luka Sučić for a potential 2027 move, continuing their interest after failing to sign him in the summer window. Manager Matthias Jaissle, who took over from Eddie Howe in August, is the driving force behind the pursuit—Sučić played under him at Red Bull Salzburg and FC Liefering, recording 12 goals and 11 assists in 73 matches. The Croatian midfielder, who joined La Real from Salzburg in August 2024 for €10m, has a contract until 2029 and is valued at around €15m, though reports suggest Newcastle may need to pay €60m to secure him.
