"If we hadn't intervened, FC Andorra probably wouldn't exist today"

FC Andorra marks 84 years since its 1942 founding; former Barcelona player Lucendo reflects on the club's survival and evolution in Spanish professional football.

FC Andorra celebrates its 84th anniversary this week. The club, founded in 1942, has navigated periods of sporting success and near-extinction. Jesús Julián Lucendo, who arrived in 1991 for a single season and stayed to make Andorra his home, reflects on the club's journey. The former Barcelona player, who debuted under Johan Cruyff in 1989 and won the Copa Catalunya with Andorra in 1994, credits himself and Justo Ruiz with helping save the club from disappearing. Andorra currently competes in Spain's Segunda División.
