Quique Álvarez: "I have the feeling we controlled the match"

former Girona manager Quique Álvarez praised his side's defensive control in a 2-0 win over Andorra, though acknowledged a lack of attacking threat in the second half.

Girona defeated Andorra 2-0 in a match where manager Quique Álvarez felt his team controlled proceedings despite the visitors' possession dominance. Álvarez highlighted the team's defensive solidity and ability to interpret the match's demands, though he noted the side lacked offensive depth and aggression after the break. The tactical approach was designed to counter Andorra's ball-monopolising style, with Álvarez opting for physical presence up front through Vanat and Pyshchur. The result marked Girona's second consecutive clean sheet at home.
