Benzema considered Lyon return this summer, says his former agent

Benzema's former agent says the 2022 Ballon d'Or winner considered returning to Lyon this summer but was blocked by his Saudi Arabia contract.

Karim Benzema's former agent Karim Djaziri has revealed that the 38-year-old striker seriously considered a return to Lyon after his contract with Al-Hilal ended this summer. Lyon's sporting director Matthieu Louis-Jean confirmed the club had made contact with Benzema, but the move could not materialise due to contractual restrictions tied to his Saudi Arabia deal. Djaziri emphasised that Benzema had long reflected on the possibility of returning to his boyhood club, describing Lyon as his city, team, and club.
