Yankuba Minteh: Update on Brighton player, and Liverpool target, ahead of January window

Liverpool encouraged to revive January bid for Brighton winger Minteh as he nears return from pre-season injury; Seagulls valued him at £80m in August.

Liverpool are being encouraged to make a fresh attempt to sign Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh in the January transfer window as the 22-year-old closes in on returning from a pre-season injury suffered in August. The Reds made multiple bids last summer, with their final offer reaching £60m before Brighton raised the asking price to £80m, which Liverpool refused to meet partly due to Minteh's fitness concerns. His agency has now confirmed he is close to full fitness after returning to training, potentially opening the door for the Reds to revisit their interest.
