Managing Wrexham as Steven Gerrard replaces Phil Parkinson and 5 Liverpool wonderkids targeted

Gerrard linked with Wrexham job as Parkinson faces pressure with the club 17th in the Championship after a poor start to the season.

Steven Gerrard has been linked with the Wrexham manager's position as pressure mounts on Phil Parkinson following a disappointing start to the season. Wrexham sit 17th in the Championship with just two wins from 10 games, well below expectations after narrowly missing the play-offs last year. Owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have backed Parkinson since his 2021 appointment, but may consider a change if results don't improve. Gerrard, who has been out of management since leaving Saudi Arabia's Al-Ettifaq nearly two years ago, is reportedly open to the role and could leverage his Liverpool connections to strengthen the squad.
