Who is Chelsea vice-captain? Xabi Alonso hints at new leader after Reece James injury blow
Summarised by MatchPal
Reece James sidelined for three months after knee surgery; Xabi Alonso hints Moises Caicedo or Levi Colwill will captain Chelsea in his absence.
Chelsea confirmed Reece James underwent successful knee surgery on Friday and will miss approximately three months of action, sidelining him until mid-January. Manager Xabi Alonso indicated that either Moises Caicedo or Levi Colwill will assume captaincy duties during James's recovery, with Colwill having already worn the armband in last weekend's 5-1 win over Bournemouth. Alonso emphasized that leadership can be shown with or without the captain's armband.
