Inside Amar Fatah's Dundee United transfer collapse as Jim Goodwin hints at City Group link-up

Dundee United's bid to re-sign Fatah collapsed when the Swedish winger chose Serie A side Lecce over a permanent deal from Troyes.

Amar Fatah's return to Dundee United fell through after the club agreed a deal with Troyes to sign him permanently. However, interest from Italian Serie A side Lecce proved decisive, with the Swedish under-21 international opting for the move to one of Europe's top leagues instead. Manager Jim Goodwin confirmed United had made a strong offer but couldn't compete with Serie A's appeal. Fatah, who impressed on loan at Tannadice last season with nine goals and four assists, has since scored for Lecce against Bologna.
