Sampdoria sack Corradi; Giampaolo return imminent

Sampdoria sack Corradi after five defeats in seven games; Giampaolo set to return as manager on an 18-month deal.

Sampdoria have dismissed manager Bernardo Corradi following a poor start to the Serie B season, with just four points from seven matches including five defeats. The club has reached a verbal agreement with Marco Giampaolo to take over for the next 18 months. Giampaolo, a former Sampdoria, Milan and Torino manager, was recently sacked by Cremonese and must have his contract with them resolved before the deal can be formally completed.
