Manna confirms Allegri: "Absolutely not in discussion. Patience is needed"

Napoli sporting director Manna reaffirmed his backing for manager Allegri after two consecutive defeats, saying the coach is not under discussion and the squad needs time to gel.

Giovanni Manna, Napoli's sporting director, has moved to quash speculation about Massimiliano Allegri's future following back-to-back losses to Villarreal and Venezia. Speaking before the Champions League match against Bodo/Glimt, Manna stated that Allegri is "absolutely not in discussion" and emphasized the need for patience as the squad adapts. He acknowledged that recent defeats prompted president Aurelio De Laurentiis to seek reassurance, describing a recent dinner between them as routine. Manna called for improved focus and consistency, stressing that the team must concentrate on European competition before the Serie A clash with Roma.
