Romero and Saliba in doubt for Mestalla with injury concerns

Romero and Saliba returned from Liverpool with physical problems and are doubts for Saturday's La Liga match at Mestalla.

Villarreal defenders Carlos Romero and Nathan Saliba returned from the Champions League trip to Liverpool with injury concerns. Romero was withdrawn from the squad late due to left adductor tightness, while Saliba was substituted during the match with muscular problems. Both players are serious doubts for Saturday's La Liga fixture against Valencia at Mestalla, pending medical assessment. They would join Nicolas Pepe, who remains sidelined recovering from eye surgery.
