Bournemouth chief issues Alex Scott contract talks update amid Chelsea transfer interest

Bournemouth owner Foley says the club is still trying to convince Scott to sign a new contract, though Chelsea and Liverpool remain interested.

Bournemouth owner Bill Foley has reiterated the club's determination to keep midfielder Alex Scott, who rejected previous contract offers and is a target for Chelsea and Liverpool. Foley acknowledged that Scott may have "stars in his eyes" about moves to bigger clubs, but insisted Bournemouth is the right place for him. The Cherries rejected a £64m Chelsea bid last summer and have since indicated they would consider selling for at least £100m in January if they secure their Premier League status.
