Furious Wayne Rooney rips into Man United players over vital missing quality

Rooney criticised Manchester United players for lacking emotion and effort following their 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth, saying he would return to the dressing room to motivate them.

Wayne Rooney launched a passionate critique of Manchester United's players following their 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth on Sunday, which extended their winless run to eight games across all competitions.

The former United striker expressed frustration at the squad's lack of emotion and work rate, particularly highlighting defensive lapses such as Lisandro Martínez being beaten by Bournemouth's Rayan. Rooney emphasised that while he may not have possessed exceptional technical ability, he always worked hard and put himself about for the team.

Speaking on Stick to United, Rooney said he would love to enter the dressing room and confront the players directly, urging them to consider whether their performances justify wearing the Manchester United shirt. He argued that football is fundamentally a game of emotions and that the current squad appears numb and detached, with some players seemingly not caring about their performances.
