Bowyer brands Burton's start 'phenomenal'

Burton manager Bowyer praised his squad's start despite having eight players injured and limited transfer resources.

Burton Albion manager Gary Bowyer has praised his team's "phenomenal" start to the League One season, sitting 14th with 14 points from 12 matches. Operating with severe injury problems—eight players sidelined and just six fully fit first-teamers—and a small squad, Bowyer said opponents have been complimentary about how the Brewers have adapted. He acknowledged gaps remain, particularly in attacking experience, after the club sold seven players including top scorer Tyrese Shade to Portsmouth on deadline day. Burton face Leyton Orient at home on Saturday.
