Valverde leads Forlán's new Uruguay squad

Valverde leads Forlán's 23-player squad for Uruguay's November friendlies; Araújo and Giménez included, Muslera absent after retiring from international duty.

Diego Forlán, Uruguay's interim manager, has announced his preliminary squad for November's friendlies following positive results in the last international window. Real Madrid's Fede Valverde headlines the selection alongside defensive leaders Araújo and Giménez. Notable inclusions are ex-Real Madrid forward Álvaro Rodríguez and La Liga players Bernal, Mouriño and Satriano. Goalkeeper Sergio Muslera declined the call-up to rest ahead of the Copa Libertadores final after his standout performance against Japan. Uruguay has confirmed a fixture against Argentina on November 13 and is working to finalize a second opponent, with Dominican Republic among the possibilities.
