Mourinho: "This is a great victory, but when we return to work, I won't let people have their heads in the clouds"

Mourinho praised his team's performance in the 2-1 Clásico win at Camp Nou but criticized VAR for missing a clear red card for Joao Cancelo in the 60th minute.

Mourinho held a composed press conference after Real Madrid's 2-1 victory over Barcelona at Camp Nou. The manager was satisfied with his team's display, describing it as a high-level match where both sides played to win. He highlighted his players' organization, concentration, and courage in playing out from the back against Barcelona's intense pressing, and noted they had opportunities to extend their lead through Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappé in a two-on-one situation.

Mourinho praised referee performance but took aim at VAR, saying it "was asleep in the 60th minute" for failing to award a clear red card to Joao Cancelo for a foul on Diomande. He defended his tactical choices, including starting Bernardo Silva and using Eduardo Camavinga as an impact substitute, emphasizing that his squad is deep and well-prepared. He also commended Frederico Valverde for playing through injury for over 40 minutes.

With five consecutive victories now secured, Mourinho warned his players not to get complacent, saying he would not allow them to have "their heads in the clouds" when they return to training. Real Madrid face another away fixture on Sunday.
