100%: Liverpool well placed to complete Ronald Araujo deal, his stats are outstanding

Araujo's impressive displays on loan have Liverpool confident about triggering his £47m permanent option; he won 100% of his duels against Brighton.

Ronald Araujo delivered another outstanding performance as Liverpool beat Brighton 2-0 at Anfield, cementing his case for a permanent move from Barcelona. The 27-year-old right-back, on loan with a reported £47m option to buy, won 100% of his five duels contested—the most of any player on the pitch—and made three tackles, eight clearances, and six recoveries without being dribbled past once. Beyond the defensive grit, Araujo completed 10 passes into the final third and 10 line-breaking passes, showcasing technical quality alongside his commitment.

Manager Andoni Iraola praised Araujo's work rate and duelling ability after the match, noting his contribution to the opening goal and his defensive solidity. The Uruguay international, cast out at Barcelona after high-profile mistakes, has become a fan favourite at Anfield and appears to have found a new lease of life in English football. Liverpool are in no rush to activate the permanent deal but would have little hesitation doing so if Araujo maintains this level of performance.
